Blackjack is an extremely popular game, both in casinos and in online play.  It is a game that is very easy to play and only involves a few sound principles to be successful.  There are often tactics you can use right away to gain an advantage on the dealer, and increase your chances of taking home a lot of money.  In this article, we will discuss some blackjack strategies you can use for success.

Some of the strategies may seem basic, but it is important to know the basics when playing blackjack.  It is much more about the fundamentals than about some slick system or some fancy calculations.  Let me give you an example — it is much more likely that the dealer's down card will have a value of 10 than any other value.  This is simple mathematics.  There are many more cards in the deck that contain a value of 10 than any other value.  

In other words, if they are showing a five, it is much more likely that they will bust than if they are showing a seven.  Of course, this is not foolproof, but it is the best way to play the odds and increase your chances of winning.  Figure out all of the different probabilities to work to your advantage, and you will exponentially increase your level of skill.

Let's also look at the other side of this.  Many people end up making foolish mistakes in blackjack because they go on their intuition or with what their gut is telling them to do.  Not only will this ruin the game for you, but it will run the game for the table.  Until you get extremely good at playing blackjack, and have an impressive track record, go with cold hard math instead of your intuition.
